Overview

Enya Labs, as a core contributor to Boba Network is seeking for a General Counsel. As our General Counsel, you will lead the full suite of legal and regulatory functions for the company. Partner with the leadership team on high-impact projects and strategic decisions. You will ensure we do the right thing and focus on long-term impact. You will develop legal guidance and strategy that ensure compliant operations and help the company thrive in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the compliance efforts across the company, coordinating with outside counsel and experts to ensure organizational, product, and communications compliance with applicable US and international laws and regulations
  • Proactively monitor changes in compliance landscapes and activate the necessary resources to carry out any required actions that result from those changes
  • Design and implement frameworks to drive compliant product and communications strategies
  • Set the overall legal strategy and manage all legal matters for the company
  • Advise and support the team on strategic & complex regulatory and business issues internationally
  • Evaluate business objectives and regulatory developments, and propose compliance solutions within risk tolerance and regulatory requirements
  • Develop a robust regulatory change management program across the company
  • Manage and engage with outside counsel and expert consultants cost-effectively

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed in a US state. JD or equivalent with 5+ years of legal experience (preferably including in-house experience)
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in the following regulatory areas:
  • Securities and commodities regulations
  • Money transmission / money services business laws
  • Banking and payment services regulations
  • AML / KYC / sanctions rules
  • Privacy and data governance
  • Foreign entity compliance
  • Tax treatment of digital assets and token grants
  • Strong history with enhancing compliance programs to meet the needs of a heightened regulatory landscape.
