Groove is looking for its first ever Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help us accelerate our pursuit of growing the best damn customer support tools on the planet.
 
You may have heard of us from our Journey to 500K blog (in fact, we’d prefer if you have, or have at least read it before applying), or from seeing us in places like NY Times, BBC, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Hacker News or elsewhere around the web.
 
This gig is for the person who wants to get in on the ground floor of a brand new Sales team in a seasoned B2B SaaS company. You’ll research prospective customers, create outreach strategies, and identify sales opportunities. As an SDR, you will conduct exploratory conversations with potential customers, use your business acumen to identify how Groove can help them provide awesome, personal support, and successfully position the Groove value proposition.
 
In this role you’ll get to:
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the CEO and account executives (also known as product specialists) to develop and implement appropriate prospecting strategies
  • Conduct high volume prospecting (60-100 activities per day) to qualify leads through calls, emails, and social media
  • Schedule marketing assessments and discovery meetings for an account executive to further assess a prospect’s business and potential for partnership with Groove
  • Conduct needs qualification calls with specific prospects as assigned
  • Help small companies realize the potential of shared inbox / helpdesk software
  • Set yourself up for a successful career by learning the necessary fundamentals to be a great salesperson, leader, and executive
  • Get a mini-MBA! You’ll learn how a variety of businesses operate, what challenges they face on a daily basis, and how technology can dramatically improve their businesses and employees’ lives
Here are some things that describe you:
  • You have a previous successful sales experience OR a strong desire to begin a sales career
  • You have previous sales experience in which you demonstrated the ability to meet or exceed sales quotas a plus (but not required)
  • You’re a kind, upbeat person with superhuman levels of empathy, who can make a prospect or customer smile, even from behind a computer.

  • You’re tech savvy and totally comfortable using different software, including:
    • CRM software to manage to track and manage prospects
    • Slack, Trello and Zoom to work closely with our remote team.
    • Zoom for customer calls
  • You have experience working remotely and being super-productive with minimal supervision.
  • You’re comfortable working on a small, agile startup team that’s continuously evolving.
  • You’re a problem solver and enjoy figuring things out on your own.
  • You’re a strong, concise communicator that can explain things clearly to prospects & customers.
  • You’ve read our Journey to 500K blog, so you know what kind of company we are and how we think about growth.
