Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director of Biofourmis Care is a physician leader responsible for Biofourmis’ transitions of care programs. We are looking to hire a physician who is forward thinking and interested in healthcare innovation. The primary function of the Medical Director is to oversee all of our transition of care programs, including hospital-at-home, timely discharge, skilled nursing facility at home, and post-acute remote patient monitoring. The Medical Director should be passionate about providing direct patient care as well as collaborating with mid-level providers to deliver virtual care. This role will oversee all aspects of clinical care provided by the Biofourmis’ team, including but not limited to clinical services provided by the MDs and APPs, quality improvement, education of providers, medical and utilization review and feedback, and support for throughput strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • 67% clinical responsibility, 33% administrative/leadership
  • Direct patient care via telemedicine
  • Oversight and collaboration with mid-level providers
  • Conduct and support internal and external training of clinical staff
  • Develop and implement clinical programs, protocols and other processes.
  • Synthesize and present clinical outcomes data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure the clinical integrity of client-related projects
  • Participate in quality and compliance review process
  • Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and SVP of Clinical Operations for service line development
  • Oversee provider onboarding
  • Facilitate monthly department provider/APP meetings
  • Evaluate physicians and APPs through performance reviews
  • Support provider professional development
  • Identify and develop future leadership in department

Minimum Required Qualifications and Skills:  

  • A physician who is a graduate of an accredited medical college with an M.D. Degree or its equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency. If a foreign graduate, post graduate training must include training in the United States.
  • The physician must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience post-residency
  • Inpatient clinical experience as a hospitalist required
  • Oversight of advanced practice providers or other clinicians strongly preferred
  • Virtual care experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and federal and state health insurance programs.

Base salary range for the position is $250,000-$300,000. Remote position based in California.
